The Amazing Spiderman (2012)

The Amazing Spiderman (2012) and how it compares with the one starring Toby Maguire:

Andrew Garfield portrayed Spiderman firstly as a human.  He portrayed emotions and dilemmas that were very realistic.  He behaved a lot more like a teen student managing feelings like infatuation and what he believes spiderman stands for.  He is hot-blooded, passionate, and fearless in making a stand for what he believes in – typical of teenagers.

Sorry to say, his girlfriend, acted by Emma Stone, distracted me too much with her big eyeballs.  Everytime she came on-screen, I kept thinking… she really has super big eyes… are they going to drop out?  Moral of the story: don’t use large-eyed actors as your main cast.  Very distracting and worrisome – unless your intention is to distract viewers from other flaws in the movie.

As a couple, I didn’t find them visually attractive… as in… neither was handsome nor pretty.  But they are magnetic in pulling you in to understand the characters’ emotions.

All in the all, I found this version a lot better than the other because the feelings it portrayed were a lot more realistic.
