I’m not sure abt the armies in other countries, but in Singapore, people like to use “Recce” or “Rekke” to connote that they are going to survey an area for planning purposes.
I know the word has got something to do with the word “reconnaissance”… but reconnaissance is not the correct grammar. You dont say… “i’m gonna reconnaissance a place”. You only say “Im gonna make a reconnaissance”.
Today… lo and behold… today… i accidentally bumped into the word “reconnoiter”. This is the correct form to be used in the sentence: I’m gonna reconnoiter a place.
yay… another mystery in my life solved. 🙂
